What is the HID Signo reader?
The HID Signo reader is a highly adaptable physical access control solution. It enables entry to facilities using cards, fobs, or mobile devices. Recognized for its exceptional security.
It supports encrypted communication (OSDP), Bluetooth, NFC, and Apple Wallet credentials. Furthermore, administrators can wirelessly oversee these readers with the HID Reader Manager app.
Key Features and Benefits
- Multi-Technology Support: It connects legacy systems with modern ones by simultaneously reading both traditional low-frequency (125 kHz) proximity cards and high-frequency (13.56 MHz) smart cards.
- Mobile & Wearable Integration: It inherently supports HID Mobile Access® through Bluetooth and NFC, in addition to Apple’s Enhanced Contactless Polling (ECP) for use with Apple Wallet.
- Enhanced Security: Cryptographic keys are stored on certified secure element hardware (EAL 5+), and the devices feature built-in optical tamper detection.
- Future-Ready: The Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) provides standard support that guarantees secure, two-way communication between the reader and the door controller.
- Remote Management: Administrators have the capability to update firmware and adjust settings from a remote location, eliminating the need for physical access to the device or the use of configuration cards.
