What is an RFID printer?
An RFID printer is a dedicated device that produces visual text, graphics, or barcodes on a label while concurrently encoding data wirelessly onto an integrated radio frequency identification chip.
How It Works
- Dual Action: The printer employs a conventional thermal printhead to imprint visible text or barcodes onto the surface of the label.
- Wireless Encoding: Simultaneously, an internal antenna transmits radio waves to configure the small microchip and antenna, referred to as an inlay, concealed within the smart label.
- Verification:
The device verifies the tag’s response to confirm that the data has been accurately written prior to the label being dispensed.
