The HID FARGO HDP5000 is a desktop retransfer ID card printer designed for producing high-definition badges, employee identification cards, and smart cards.
How It Works
- Retransfer technology: The printer transfers the image onto a transparent film rather than printing it directly onto the card.
- Thermal fusion: It subsequently melts or bonds that film to the surface of the card.
- Edge-to-edge coverage: This method allows full color to cover the entire card edge-to-edge without white borders.
- Great for smart cards: It works well on uneven card surfaces, like proximity or smart cards with embedded chips.
