What is biometric finger print?
A biometric fingerprint serves as a method for security and identification by utilizing the distinct patterns of ridges, valleys, and minutiae points found on a human fingertip.
How It Works
- Scanning: A sensor (optical, capacitive, or ultrasonic) captures an image of your fingertip.
- Mapping: Software looks for specific details like ridge endings and splits, known as minutiae.
- Template Creation: The scanner converts these distinct points into an encrypted digital mathematical code, instead of storing a conventional photograph of your print.
- Matching: Future scans are evaluated against this stored code to either grant or deny access.
