The error 240 on a FARGO card printer (specifically models like the Artista Retransfer series or CE/DS series) indicates a C1 Supply Error, which means the printer is having trouble with the ink ribbon cartridge.
Common Causes and Solutions:
- Ribbon Issue: The ribbon may be broken, torn, or not properly positioned.
- Cartridge Problem: The C1 ink ribbon cartridge might be incorrectly seated. Remove the cartridge, ensure the ribbon is properly loaded, and reinstall it
- Sensor Error: The ribbon sensor may need to be recalibrated
